The Lewisville Public Library is a comfortable, inclusive gathering place where the community connects with resources and experiences that inspire and encourage personal enjoyment and growth. Our dedicated staff and beautiful 77,800 square foot building serves a diverse community of over 135,00 residents of Lewisville and the surrounding communities in Denton County.

Company History

The Lewisville Public Library began in the early 1950s as a volunteer run community library. The first full time librarian was hired in 1965 and on September 1, 1968, the City of Lewisville designated the Library as a city department and hired the Library's first Director. In 2023, the Library celebrated it's 55th anniversary!

The City of Lewisville, Texas is a thriving community in the heart of the Denton-Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The Library is one of 14 departments that handle operations in the City of Lewisville, Texas. In 2025, the City will celebrate it's 100th birthday!
